Test Wiki:Bots/Requests for Bureaucrat approval

Stewards may add bureaucrat permissions to a Bot account at the request of its operator without consensus. Without steward permission, another user may not add bureaucratic permissions to a bot. Failure to heed this warning may be followed by removal of bureaucratic privileges without prior warning or consideration.

To run a bot with bureaucrat privileges on the Test Wiki, you must first get it approved. Follow the instructions below to add a request and list of archived bots approved requests are seen here.

1. To block proxies regularly according to meta:Special:log/gblblock (needs sysop flag)
2. To remove Administrators' Newsletter category from user talk pages if any publisher forgot to remove the category from the AdminNews (needs AWB)

• Hello, thanks for the request! Something I am curious about is why the bot requires bureaucrat rights. Blocking proxies and category removing shouldn’t need this, correct? Let me know if I’m missing something! X (talk + contribs) 11:35, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
