The following page documents an official Test Wiki policy.
This page has been elaborated and approved by a system administrator and compliance with it is mandatory for all affected users. It must not be modified without prior approval by a system administrator. In the case of a conflict between the English version and a translation, the English version takes precedence.

Welcome to Test Wiki! We're excited to have you here. There are a few things for you to keep in mind, though, for your privacy and safety.

What we collect

We collect IP addresses and browser information of everyone who visits the site and/or edits (Lawful basis: Legitimate interest, site operations and abuse prevention), cookies, when you ask us to keep you logged in (Lawful basis: your consent), pages you visit or edit (Lawful basis: Legitimate interest, site operations), basic usage data through Matomo Analytics (Lawful basis: legitimate interest, site operations and improvement).

When you create an account or contact us

We collect a username (Lawful basis: Legitimate interest, to perform your requested action), email address optionally (Lawful basis: your consent, can be revoked through removing your email address through your preferences), and any messages you send to us through staff@testwiki.wiki (Lawful basis: Legitimate interest, responding to your inquiry and site administration)

Analytics

We use Matomo Analytics to improve the site. This collects the following:

  • Which pages are most visited by you, and
  • Browser/device type and country

We create usage profiles based on your IP from this data to improve the site.

How we use your data

We use all this to:

  • Moderate the site and improve it
  • Prevent spam and abuse (your data may be released to the public for this purpose if we have a specific legitimate or public interest), and
  • Maintain the site

Who can see my data?

  • Stewards and system administrators, for abuse prevention
  • System administrators, to improve the site.
  • The public may view anonymized analytics, along with your edits, username, and IP address if editing without an account. They may also view your personally identifiable information or other data, given one of the following:
A court has ordered us to disclose your data in a court proceeding not kept under seal,
A system administrator has deemed it necessary for site operations, or
A steward or system administrator has disclosed your data to deter persistent and severe abuse, vandalism, or spam.
  • Law enforcement and emergency services may see your data given one of the above, and they may also see your data to prevent a crime in progress, apprehend a suspect for a previous crime, (depending on the the country, we may refuse to disclose data for these purposes) and in an emergency to protect vital interests of another person or of you (that is, to save a life).

We do not sell your data to advertisers or other companies, nor do we share it to third parties other than the general public or emergency services unless legally required. Depending on the country and legal basis for the data request, we may not share data even if required by a court, to protect users' privacy.

Your Rights

You may revoke consent for any of your data collected through consent as described by the comment next to the data. You may also opt out of analytics through sending a "Do Not Track" request to our servers along with your requests. You may also request any of the data that we have on you, per GDPR and other privacy laws. You may also vanish (have your username anonymized) at any time. You may also email us to request that your Matomo Analytics user profile be deleted.

Children's privacy

As a non-commercial site, Test Wiki is not subject to COPPA regulations and law in the US, where we are based. As such, children may use our site. In the EU and UK, or anywhere else with digital age of consent requirements, we use legitimate interest for site operations as the basis for lawful collection and processing, not the child's consent. A parent may also exercise the rights described in "Your Rights".

Changes and effective date

This policy may change as the world and regulations do. This policy was last modified on 08-10-2025, and is effective immediately, unless reverted by a system administrator.
