- A request for comments at the community portal led to the implementation of a new policy outlining the requirements that users must meet in order to request bureaucrat rights.
Technical news
- Following a request for comments at the community portal, two new user groups - abusefilter-admin and abusefilter-restricted were created. These rights can only be assigned by following a vote on the community portal and/or at least two stewards supporting it.

Technical news
- Extension:Report has been added, allowing users to privately report revisions of pages for the steward's or suppressor's attention (T99).
- Extension:UnusedRedirects has been added, which users can use to grab the list of redirects that aren't used (T105).
- Partial action blocks are now in effect on the Test Wiki. This means that administrators have the ability to restrict users from certain actions, including uploading files, moving pages and files, creating new pages, and sending thanks (T106).
Miscellaneous
- The name of the userRightsManager gadget has changed to UserRightsManager, so some users may have the gadget turned off. It may be necessary to re-enable it in the preferences.

- As of now, Test Wiki uses hCaptcha instead of reCAPTCHA (T87).
- Extension:StopForumSpam has been added to prevent spam. (T111).

- After a discussion at the community portal, stewards and system administrators are now required to undergo a reconfirmation vote at the community portal if the rights are removed due to inactivity. Previously, the rights could be restored at their request within an hour of removal.

Grace period warning
Hello Chqaz, I hope this message finds you well! The purpose of this message is to notify you about a change to your rights happening in a day or few; a grace period will be added to your rights, making them temporary. This is because you have been inactive for almost three months. This grace period generally lasts one or two weeks. It typically serves as an extra notification sometime after this message was posted to bring back the user to activity before their rights expire at the end of the period, and it is a popular practice amongst Test Wiki administrators. The expiration of this grace period means your rights have expired to indicate you have been gone from Test Wiki for exactly three months, which is the maximum time limit an inactive contributor can have administrator and/or bureaucrat rights, as per the inactivity policy. To prevent a grace period addition from occurring to your rights, please respond to this message, by typing "No thanks. ~~~~", or by publishing a test edit on one of Test Wiki's test pages and reverting it quickly. Doing either of those two actions will prevent this change from occurring, and reset your imaginary three-month inactivity period timer nearing the day of the third month to zero days. However, if you come back to this message and the grace period is on your rights, do not hesitate to undo the action by changing the configuration of those rights from "Existing expiration time:9:30, 5 February 2025" to "Does not expire" on Special:UserRights.
