News and updates for administrators, bureaucrats, and stewards from the past month (June 2024).
Technical news
- Extension:Report has been added, allowing users to privately report revisions of pages for the steward's or suppressor's attention (T99).
- Extension:UnusedRedirects has been added, which users can use to grab the list of redirects that aren't used (T105).
- Partial action blocks are now in effect on the Test Wiki. This means that administrators have the ability to restrict users from certain actions, including uploading files, moving pages and files, creating new pages, and sending thanks (T106).
Miscellaneous
- The name of the userRightsManager gadget has changed to UserRightsManager, so some users may have the gadget turned off. It may be necessary to re-enable it in the preferences.

- Extension:NewUserMessage has been added that will add a welcome message to the talk pages of newly created wiki accounts (T100).
- Extension:UserMerge has been added, which allows stewards to merge a user's account with another user's account (T88).
- As of now, Test Wiki uses hCaptcha instead of reCAPTCHA (T87).
- Extension:StopForumSpam has been added to prevent spam. (T111).

Grace period warning[edit source]
Hello CanonNi, hope this message finds you well. The purpose of this message is to notify you about a change to your rights happening in three days; a grace period will be added to your rights, making them temporary. To prevent a grace period addition from occurring to your rights, please respond to this message, by typing "No thanks. ~~~~", or by publishing a test edit on one of Test Wiki's test pages and reverting it quickly. Doing either of those two actions will prevent this change from occurring, and reset your three-month inactivity period timer nearing the day of the third month to zero days.
