This right is automatically granted to Stewards and System Administrators who can assign it to themselves, but Non-Steward suppressors may be appointed by community consensus, or by Steward delegation of authority with a consensus at least 2 Stewards supporting. Suppression is usually only used to remove personal information, copyright infringement, serious personal attacks, or other grossly insulting material, but there might be exceptions at our discretion. This is one of the six default MediaWiki user groups, see [[:mw:Help:User rights and groups]].
