We need a new statement on this page about not blocking suspected bot accounts. This is because we have had users, especially me, blocking newly registered users because of a generic first and last name visible on their user talk pages. This statement needs to affirm users about how these users could potentially be good-faith ones. Additionally, this statement should be rest assured that if any of these users come to spam our wiki, the abuse filter bot will deal with them. Community bans
[edit source]Others may disagree with me, but I believe it follows that if the community delegates the power to impose bans to Stewards, they have that ability themselves regardless of its policy basis, so I disagree with the information on them being replaced with a 'the community may guide the stewards' esque statement. Suspected bot accounts
[edit source]We need a new statement on this page about not blocking suspected bot accounts. Faithful (talk) 20:36, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
