Suppression should be used as a tool of first resort for the following cases:

  • potentially libelous information
  • inappropriate personal information
    home addresses and telephone numbers, national identification numbers, IP addresses of registered users and email addresses posted without clear understanding of the consequences, etc

Suppression may be used for serious vandalism, disruption or grossly insulting material at your discretion, but you should first consider whether revision deletion would be an adequate alternative.
