It is not official policy yet, but is undergoing discussion on the community portal. It may be based on policies from other sites or unwritten customs.

Deputy stewards are trusted users appointed by stewards or the community (either method of appointment must have at least 2 support votes). Users with this permission have the following rights:

• Modify abuse filters with restricted actions (abusefilter-modify-restricted)
• View and create filters that use protected variables (abusefilter-access-protected-vars)
• View logs related to accessing protected variable values (abusefilter-protected-vars-log)
• Handle reports (handle-reports)
• View hidden abuse log entries (abusefilter-hidden-log)
• View private logs (suppressionlog)
• Add groups: Bureaucrats, Interface administrators, Administrators
• Remove groups: Bureaucrats, Interface administrators, Administrators
• Add and remove the suppressor right from their own account
• Add group to own account: Suppressors
• Remove group from own account: Suppressors

Revocation

Deputy stewards may have their permission revoked upon a vote of confidence by stewards or the community, or by a steward in an emergency.
