Suppression should be used as a tool of first resort for the following cases:

• potentially libelous information
• inappropriate personal information
  • Home addresses
  • Telephone numbers
  • National identification numbers
  • IP addresses of registered users
  • Email addresses posted without clear understanding of the consequences or without any consent from the person involved (this also warrants an oversight block)
• Obvious copyright infringement

Suppression may be used for serious vandalism, disruption or extremely grossly insulting material at your discretion, but you should first consider whether revision deletion would be an adequate alternative.
