This right is automatically granted to stewards and system administrators, who can assign it to themselves. As of April 2025, non-steward suppressors (NSS) are no longer being appointed. The community reached a clear consensus to abolish the NSS role going forward. One existing NSS, X, retained suppression rights until promotion to steward later the same month. As of then, only stewards and system administrators have access to suppression.
