I've suggested it in the past (I think), and I'm gonna suggest it again, but creating a second wiki, maybe testwikibeta or something, and having centralauth would allow for a lot more testing, and I think it would be good, I've looked into it and CA isn't *incredibly* hard to install, so I think it's possible.
