Redundant user rights
[edit]Hey! I'm curious if it's okay to have redundant user rights—in my view, they make it harder to see the actual change in the rights log because of the many user groups. Basically asking if I should continue to try to keep reduce redundancy of user rights around the wiki. Tester (ᴛ•ᴄ) 16:50, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

- Well, I see your point. We are a test wiki, so, testing with user rights is part of the testing process. I don't think we should be too strict if people start giving themselves redundant rights. So, I tend to say, "let them do it". As long as they don't grant bureaucrat rights to any alternate accounts (sockpuppet and bots), I think it's permissible to have redundant rights. Username change
[edit]Hi. I haven't been here for a while and I don't know if I will be active anytime soon. However, my username in Wikimedia was changed to Luigi Nakano, since I may soon become a recognized person in my university (I'm engaged with the student movement). I therefore no longer want my surname and initials to be present in my username. I'd like this account to be renamed to Luigi Nakano too, if that's possible. Thanks in advance. - A discussion at the Community Portal supported that the
